5 out of 5 stars Great little light   November 3, 2008

I am very pleased with the performance of this flashlight. The very bright setting is great, when you need it. I use the lowest output over 90% of the time and the battery seams to last forever on the low settings. This is small enough to carry in your pocket or purse. On the 180 lumen setting I can light up a pasture behind my brothers house.

The quality of construction is as good as or better than big name lights that cost 3-4 times as much.

I have another model of this light that uses 2 AA Batteries. Both have the same bulb unit and switch unit. The battery holder in the middle is different for each battery type.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent for its size   October 9, 2008

It's very small (sits in my pocket comfortably) and very bright (brighter than my old Nuwai ALX-352L). It has 3 easily adjustable (with one hand) brightness levels which is suitale for different everyday needs. Consumption in electricity is surprisingly low as I took some batteries that my ZTS Battery Tester shows had very little juice left but P2D still happily ran with them for a long time (in low brightness mode). One minor issue is that it can easily roll off the table.

Does what it says. The only cons is that it will roll off a table. a little easy to turn on if in your pack or bag. It would be nice to have a lockout switch. Other than that, Love it. Really bright and the ability to run on low power for emergency use. Funny how I try to find ways to use it, it works that well.

With more light than my 2D Mag light, this little (3.2 inch) light is simply amazing. There are even some videos on youtube that show the difference between this and some other flashlights.

The hardest decision may be which size Fenix Premium Q5, Cree Edition light to choose. At 0.8 inches in diameter, the P2D may be a tad big for the pocket; however, the belt holster is no larger than the light and fits nicely beside the mobile phone case.

I also bought a dozen Surefire CR123A batteries; don't buy those locally unless you have money to burn.

This is an amazingly bright, amazingly compact flashlight. It fits neatly on a keychain, and while the lowest brightness is plenty for most situations, the higher levels are there when you need them. It's not cheap, but I don't know of any light that's anywhere near this bright and versatile for the price. I did have to exchange the first one I ordered because the tail switch was faulty, but the second one is holding up fine.
